Meta Muse: the question is control

What would you authorise a digital assistant to do for your business?

The news

On 8 September 2026, Axios reported the introduction of Muse, Meta's personal agent. It also described Sentinel, a system that evaluates proposed actions and may request user intervention. Source: Axios, 8 September 2026.

The useful question for businesses

Our reading is this: before connecting an assistant to business tools, decide where its autonomy ends. Drafting an email, sending it and changing an order are three different operations. It makes sense to give each different permissions.

Imagine a business receiving appointment requests. An initial project could collect preferences, draft a reply and show the owner any missing information. A booking would become confirmed only after availability was checked and the workflow's required approval was given.

How to design an initial trial

  • Choose a limited task with a recognisable outcome.
  • Grant only the access needed for that task.
  • Show what is about to be sent or changed.
  • Provide a handover to a person when information is missing.

These are TM Studio design principles, not a description of Muse's available features. An announcement is not enough to assume the product is available for every account or in Italy. Before building an integration, check which service is actually accessible and its terms.
